PROBLEMI MLADIH U PANDEMIJI

Posljednje tri godine bile su posebno teške za mlade ljude, kao i za cijelo društvo. Mladi su lišeni odgovarajućeg obrazovanja, kako u školi tako i na fakultetu. Također, mnoge društvene veze i međunarodne prilike postale su nemoguće.

Pandemija virusa COVID-19 promijenila je svijet. Svi su trebali pokazati solidarnost prema starijima i fizički nemoćnijim članovima društva.

Mnogi su se suočili s društvenom izoliranošću, nedostatkom sposobnosti da zadrže ili pokrenu veze, studiji su prebačeni na Internet ili su učenici morali sami učiti. Istovremeno je učenicima uskraćena mogućnost odlaska na međunarodne razmjene i obrazovati se uspoređujući obrazovne programe u raznim zemljama. Jednako tužno za njih je bilo i otkazivanje ceremonija dodjela diploma u školama i na sveučilištima. Mnogi maturanti željeli su zajedno proslaviti tako važan događaj i radovati se početku nove faze života. Umjesto toga, neki su diplome dobili poštom ili tako što su sami došli u upravu škole u određeno vrijeme.

Nemogućnost druženja i interakcije s drugima naštetilo je najugroženijim članovima društva. Na primjer, mnogi ljudi, uključujući Rome, izgubili su priliku da se pravilno obrazuju. U nekim slučajevima djeca koja se se hranila u školi pretrpjela su velik gubitak. Neke obitelji nisu mogle zamijeniti školske obroke onima kod kuće. Djeca u takvim romskim obiteljima ispaštala su jer ne mogu svi roditelji djeci pružiti podršku u obrazovanju kao što to učitelji mogu u školi.

Način na koji su roditelji većine djece podržavali njihovo školovanje kod kuće nije uvijek bio moguć u romskim obiteljima. Osobito ondje gdje nije bilo stabilne internetske veze, računala za spajanje na online nastavu, a u nekim slučajevima i struje.  Kad su škole i fakulteti prebačeni na model nastave od kuće zbog koronavirusa, mnoge obitelji, uključujući i romske, nisu mogle pružiti podršku u učenju i svojoj djeci objasniti pojedinosti iz školskih programa.

U ove 3 godine osnovno pravo na obrazovanje postalo je previše ovisno o posjedovanju računala i interneta kod kuće. Da i ne spominjemo ogroman pritisak na mentalno zdravlje zbog svih zastoja u socijalizaciji.

Ljeti se već više od 20 godina u svijetu obilježava Međunarodni dan mladih. Održava se svake godine 12. kolovoza kako bi se skrenula pozornost na pitanja koja muče mlade i kako bi se proslavio potencijal mladih ljudi. Ovaj bi datum trebao istaknuti budućnost našeg čovječanstva, i planeta kao cjeline.

Danas, na dan mladih, lokalne uprave obično organiziraju kostimirane zabavne festivale, sportska natjecanja, natjecanja u talentima i znanstvene tribine. U godinama prije pandemije, na primjer, mnogi veliki gradovi bili su domaćini sajmova poslova, tečajeva zanatskih vještina, javnih razgovora i ulične umjetnosti. Na Danima mladih velika je pažnja posvećena društvenoj komponenti. Često se organiziraju dobrotvorni sajmovi i festivali, a prihodi idu u sirotišta ili bolnice.

Međunarodni dan mladih naša je prilika da proslavimo i podržimo glasove, akcije i inicijative mladih. Datum je ustanovila Generalna skupština UN-a 1999. godine. Podržali su preporuku Svjetske konferencije ministara mladih da se 12. kolovoza proglasi Međunarodnim danom mladih. To je dan razmišljanja i brige za budućnost našeg svijeta osiguravanjem smislenog i uključivog sudjelovanja mladih ljudi u političkim, ekonomskim, ekološkim, kulturnim, obrazovnim i drugim programima.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The past 3 years were extremely difficult for young people, as well as for the whole society. Young people have been deprived of proper education, both at school and at university. Also, many social connections and international opportunities have become impossible.

 

The pandemic of COVID-19 changed the world. Everyone needed to show solidarity with the elderly and physically impaired members of society.

 

Many faced social isolation, a lack of ability to maintain or initiate relationships, studies shifted to online or to self-study. At the same time, students were deprived of the opportunity to go on an international exchange to other countries and receive an education with a comparison of the educational programs in various countries. The cancellation of graduation ceremonies at schools and universities was equally painful. Many graduates wanted to celebrate such an important event together and rejoice at the beginning of a new stage of life. Instead, some received their diplomas by mail or by coming alone to the school administration at a designated time.

 

The inability to interact with others and socialize was harmful to the most disadvantaged members of society. For example, many people, including Roma have lost the opportunity to be properly educated. Moreover, in some cases, children who were fed at school suffered a very particular loss. Certain families were unable to properly replace at home the school meals. Children in such Roma families suffered also because not all Roma parents could provide educational support like at school with a teacher.

 

The way parents of most children supported their home education was not always possible in Roma families. Particularly if there was no stable Internet connection, no computer at home for online lessons, and in some cases a basic electricity. When schools and universities were switched to home education due to COVID restrictions many families, including Roma, weren't always able to provide learning assistance and explain certain things from school programs to their children.

 

In these 3 years, the basic right to education became far too directly dependent on having a computer and internet at home. Not to mention the tremendous pressure on mental health due to blocks in socialization.

 

In summer, for over 20 years the world celebrates International Youth Day. It is held annually on August 12, to draw attention to youth issues and celebrate young people's potential as partners in our global society today. This date supposed to highlight the future of the nation, the world and the planet as a whole.

 

Today, on the Youth Day, local administrations usually organize cosplay festivals, talent and sports contests, quests and scientific forums. In the years before pandemic, for example, many big cities have hosted career fairs, master classes in craft skills, public talks, and street art. A lot of attention has been paid to the social component during the Youth Days. Often charity fairs and festivals are organized, with the proceeds going to orphanages or hospitals.

 

The International Youth Day is our opportunity to celebrate and support the voices, actions and initiatives of young people. The date was established by the UN General Assembly in 1999. They endorsed the recommendation of the World Conference of Ministers of Youth calling for the proclamation of August, 12 as International Youth Day. It is a day of reflection and concern for the future of our World by ensuring the meaningful and inclusive participation of young people in political, economic, environmental, cultural, educational, and other agendas.
